Dragons of Tirenia: Monte Mamiliano and the Copper Dragons

Monte Mamiliano is a tiny but beautiful island in the Tirenian Sea, located off the coast west of Fiumenze. For most of its history, it has been isolated and uninhabited. Following the collapse of the Auromian Empire, San Mamiliano founded a monastery on the island for those who wished to dwell in isolation from the world and contemplate the beauty of the world. Over time, the monastery and the island both took the saint's name. There the monks remained, with only the most fleeting of contact with the rest of the world. Occasionally, the island's caves would be used by smugglers, but they left the monks alone.

Everything changed when the copper dragons moved in. Unlike the other metallic dragons, the copper dragons had no plans to fight the chromatic dragons who had taken over the world. Instead, they wanted to create a palatial home for themselves and their friends, cut off from the troubles of the world. Suddenly, the Conte of Monte Mamiliano and his family, friends, followers, and hangers-on began to develop the island into a playground for the idle rich. Feasting, drinking, gambling, and ostentatious displays were the rule. The smugglers proved vital this new community, as the copper dragons had no particular qualms about the legality of their action.

Now, there are two communities on the island, both seeking to ignore the hardships of the world - one religious, and one secular. The monks would love to have their island back, while the copper dragons would love to continue their life of debauchery without moralists judging them all the time!

 The crew of the Brazen Nudibranch fled the city of Staglia as quickly as they could. They decided to head inland to Trion, the home of the quicksilver dragons. They hoped that they could learn more about the ritual that had brought the marble and gold dragon to life. It was slow going, however, because very quickly they found themselves pursued by soldiers hunting for them. People said that spies from Staglia, with the help of a traitor (Scelto), had infiltrated the city and attacked a gathering of dragons with black magic. The group posed as itinerant monks to avoid being discovered. Soon they reached the shining Fulgente River, in whose silvery waters an angel was said to have once died. Mercury Dragons and the Magic of Trion

Trion is a city of about 30,000 people situated in the foothills of the White Mountains, about 200 miles north-west of Staglia. It was founded by the Auromian Empire after an important victory against the orcs in the mountains. Since then, it has had many rulers: it was part of Carlo d'Orso's empire, was ruled by the Ordinarch-Princes of the church, was conquered by mercury dragons and finally annexed by the bronze dragons of Staglia, who still rule it. All of Tirenia is highly magical, due to the convergence of ley lines there, but Trion is particularly magical. The ruling mercury dragons princes have many magical advisors, and have created palaces attuned to the five elements - earth, fire, water, air and aether.
